I bought an extra third brake light from a the classifieds section of another forum in case I screwed mine up. I ended up using a step drill and got it to work the first time without problems. I used black silicone to seal the outside, and epoxy to secure the rear of the camera in the housing. The reflector is still in tact, so the other 2 bulbs still reflect some in the center outputting a little light.
It looks really good just to let you know!

On a side note, I contacted Ford spare parts here in Australia as the Ford Territory (4x4) comes standard with a reversing camera, mounted in a nice little housing under the trim on the rear hatch. I thought perhaps it might be something that I could use in my reversing camera setup. The conversation went as follows:
Me - Hi I've damaged my reversing camera on my Territory and am wanting a replacement
Ford Parts Guy - I've never had to sell a replacement before. Let me find the part number and price
Me - Ok, now worries
*A couple of minutes pass by*
For Parts Guy - So you've damaged the camera?
Me - Yes
Ford Parts Guy - A replacement is going to cost you Aud$1057.43
Me - *silence*
Ford Parts Guy - That's for the camera itself
Me - Oh ok, I might learn to live with it broken then. Thanks
Moral of the story. Stick with ebay or jaycar

I wanted a really good camera since I don't have a rearview mirror, & my camera is my only view... all of the rear view cameras out there are just not real high end at all, I went with a sony superHAD 1/3" chip camera, 520 lines resolution, .02 lux native without infrared assist... it came in a large outdoor security camera case that I took apart & chopped down, then built my own bracket to mount it, isolated on rubber vibration dampeners & added an adjustment for finetuning the angle
this camera see's through the wiper hole in my tailgate... since I don't actually have to look through the window, there was no need for a wiper anyway... from outside you don't even see the camera, theres a tinted glass inside the hole, the camera is inside...

that camera was 2 something... don't remember exactly.... closer to 300 really I think...
it's actually a heated camera, & it was originally equipted with nightvision infrareds which I don't use, but because it was a nightvision camera, it switches to b&w on low light, which gives such low lux ratings even before infrared assist...
I can see much better at night with the camera than I can see with my eyes even.... it was a bit overkill, but I wanted to do it once & forget about it....
the biggest problem was that all really high end cameras don't do the mirror flip, & back then, there weren't even any decent mirror image cams, I use a alpine monitor in place of my rearview mirror, & that monitor does the mirror flip for me... this may not be a good solution for a rear camera unless you can provide the flip through software or your monitor itself....
I'm going to upgrade to 4 cameras & constant running dvr software, & when I do, this one will get moved to the top of the windshield for front duties really, now adays there are better mirror cameras out there... I'm going to need 3 of them though

Yah I dont think wireless is the way to go on a car. But the mount looks nice. Did it go together easy? Maybe I will design my own wired version and sell it. How hard could a license camera mount be to build.
Can you post some pics of it mounted?

Looks like the same thing I posted. Only wired. Which is probably better for video quality. Plus i like the infrared leds.
