Great looking Microphone for in car use

So I am searching for an amplified microphone that will pick up my voice for in can phone use. I think the solution is to have a microphone that has a power source to increse its sensitivity. I found 2 similar mics that use 9-12v that could easily be attached to a computer. What do you guys think? These will work well? I just cant stand the fact that you practically have to yell into most mics. These mics appear to be for security cams etc.

An amplified mic of that type will typically also amplify the background noise. It is background noise that makes voice command and communications in a vehicle challenging in the first place, that is why we always suggest some type of mic that includes noise canceling technology. In a vehicle environment, the closer the mic is to sound source of interest the better, so that background noise has even less of a chance to become a factor. This is why a headset can be the perfect solution. Since wires running to your head can be a bit cumbersome in a vehicle, we also suggest using a bluetooth headset. Nearly all bluetooth headsets include noise canceling features now.
The nice thing is that using a headset in a car is considered a normal thing now days, since many drivers already use them with their cell phones.

yeah... I have a bluetooth headset for my phone but it sucks.. they all suck none of them are ever loud enough and the mic is never good enough... I got the highest end motorola last year, the one that flips shut, after trying various other models. My 2000 civic has sound proofing material EVERYWHERE in the doors, floors, trunk, etc... its not a noisy car... but I drive on the highway alot.

Come on like 1o years ago my aunt had a benz with a car phone installed and he could talk and it could pick up his voice fine... 10 years later now that I have a computer in my car I cant find anything that can do the same hands free action. I have the mic I ripped out of my parents van's car phone that they never used. But it only has 2 wires on it and I know it gets power some how but I cant figure out how to connect it up to my pc... I would def use that if I had the option but I dont know how to make it work!

It all depends on what you intentions are. A Bluetooth headset is about the only solution for voice command, other options might work for just a hands free phone type application. Motorolla offers very limited support of the headset profile required for connecting to the PC, so in most cases a Motorolla headset will not work without some extensive tweaking.

The software used by the VN1 system, AIVMS, provides automatic audio setting manipulation, so you can keep the audio output on the system speakers rather than at the headset if desired.
A bluetooth headset is not only great for voice commands, it also excels when used for VOIP Video calls placed from our vehicles. I don't see much mention of video calling capability here, but I'm sure its nice to know that it is possible, and it looks pretty good in fullscreen mode on our 7" widescreen LCD's.

wow... your web site hurts my eyes... I read through it to check out your products and damn... It looks like you have some good ideas there but the less shady your web site looks the more people will trust buying stuff from you.

anyway I plan on getting the street deck software and install the bluetooth module and turning my entire car into a giant bluetooth headset. I dont care about voice control and my motorola headset can allready talk to both my computer and my phone just fine. So it would be kinda silly to connect my phone to my pc via bt then my pc to headset via bt... bc that would get me nowhere...

I am looking for an microphone that will pick up my voice that can be mounted in or near the rearview mirror etc that will work with the street deck system once they release the bluetooth module.

Ya, your welcome. And our website design is really none of your business. Our customers are primarily professionals in the racing field, and they don't seem to mind the design at all. The only reason I even presented those links was to help explain what I was saying, not to promote our products here.

If you want to spend the change, mp3car.com sells a noise-cancelling mic for handsfree use. It's not cheap though.
