girder/ unrecognized USB device

I have searched and searched and searched. Both here and the web. I have a fairly good idea on how girder works and how to program it. and i have a device i want to program. It's USB. But as soon as i plug it in, the led's on the device flicker then go off. So i know my USB port is supplying power.

What my problem is, is that after it flickers i can't get it to do anything. it acts like the USB port is just shut off.

Is there a way to override the USB (apparent) lockout so i can program it?

It's a Toshiba PMD-C0011 LED control module. if that helps. it has 12 button and a volume encoder.

THank.s finally a response

I have version 3.2.9B

I Know i need a plug-in installed, but i have no idea which one or really where to even to find them. I'm learning this stuff fast but there's still some gray areas that i don't understand.

As far as the cable it is not in the vehicle yet. I'm just developing all the software now on my desktop so i have (hopefully) all of that done by the time i get to the install.

Anyway the cable is the standard 5' cable that is attached to the device. I have plugged it in to a know working usb port as it the same one i run my flashdrive from.

Thanks
Dingo

Drivers? this is where i get confused. I know what a driver is but the only ones i can find for this device are for windows 95. But i thought that's what girder was for? it could take the input and basically make a driver for the device.

I'm guessing now that I'm wrong, so

How do i make the drivers run in XP?
And what plug-in would i use since the device is not listed?

Sorry pal, I've tried and search and the best is only a window ME driver at driverguide.com.
Until someone with the capability in writting drivers comes around, I suggest u could point it to a HID driver or keyboard driver when XP request u to install a driver. GoodLuck
