CAR2PC question about functionality

From the website:

"Control your Car PC or laptop directly from the car stereo (head unit), switch between playlists, genres, artists, albums or favorites. See your track title, artist and other information from PC."

Just to be crystal clear before I'd invest money in this... Does this mean that I can sift through all of my many folders of MP3's on my hard drive through the head unit? If that's the case could I do all of this with the remote control that comes with the head unit. That's what it looks like it says but I want to double check.

Car2PC allow you to control PC from the car stereo. What you will do with that control depends on your needs.
We provide basic plugins for WinAmp, WMP. There are plugins for RR and SD exist.
There is no direct way to play USB hard drive from the Car2PC yet. Will be added in March.

Jbors - I have the hon1 adaptor. None of the plugins work for me. Including the console sent to me by Dmitry. ('grom' I think, I'm at work. I remember I had to do DB1 and send in the logs). Dmitry even sent me a debug chip. I sent the log results from that chip over a week ago and I haven't heard back. Can you ping the support group for me.

Yes it seems Ridgeline is the problem. You should get an email already. Sorry for delay.

Okay... specifically can I set this up to navigate my folders and select a cd of mp3's and then after I get tired of one band , move up one level (out of the current folder) and select a different folder and then continue playing my music?

Also, will the head unit display what folder I have selected?

The only stereos that support text is Pioneer, some Toyotas and BMW.
As of folder navigation, we do not provide such a software, but there is an API you can use to implement that.
I would warn you that even though some headunits have text it is not always possible to use it in the way you want. The only car I'm aware which will work is BMW
