Seems like that would be a natural program enhancement!

Sorry for asking a stupid question... but am I correct in assuming that the PR-1000 does not have a "click" operation (pressing down on the control) and that it only allows rotation (with the haptic feedback)? I've just ordered a Space Navigator (not delivered yet) but it looks like in terms of degrees of freedom the Space Navigator has the advantage (but misses the haptic part).
Is this correct?
Thanks,
Razvan

It does have a "click" function...it will also register a click and turn as a different function than just a turn (and you can set a different haptic response)

Thank you RickS, much appreciated. I just couldn't tell from their website ... I'm probably going to go ahead and order one.
Thanks again,
Razvan
Later edit: BTW, about Immersion (the company), are they always so unresponsive? I've already attempted to contact them 3 times (2 forms on their site and one direct email) but received no reply whatsoever... I just wanted to ask about their development kit (is it the same as the one sold here or is it different?). I'll keep trying, I was just wondering if anyone had more luck getting in touch with them.

Apologies for answering my own messages, but I have just received a price quote from Immersion. Their PR-1000 developer's kit costs $3500 so I guess it's not the same that MP3Car is selling for $119 .

Linux support
Any linux support for this device? If not, any discounts for a developer willing to implement it?
Thanks,
-Martin

Have just downloaded the drivers from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm and they are signed for Vista, and it work with the demo from MP3Car so I think it would be possible to use the drivers on their site for both Linux and Mac... When you try to install the drivers Vista tell you that the drivers not are the right one, but just ignore that...
mustanglou -> Try one of these: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later. or Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) or later.
martinfick -> Try this one: Linux 0.4.13
Hope that's a start for you people, so we kan make something out...

Does anyone use this product with RoadRunner?
It's been about 5 years since I looked at or created code of any sort, but I still know the basics. Do those who use this device think that it would be reasonable for me to integrate the most basic functions (volume and balance) within a weekend?
I'm working on my second version of my custom dash and I need to invest in a volume knob before I start... using the grififn powermate for now..

Man.. oh well.
I need a volume knob so I can get started on the second version of my dash piece. Just ordered one one second ago, hopefully it will either work or having one integrated into my dash will force me to make it work.

I installed the drivers supplied by mp3car.com and tried to use the demo program and it doesn't work. Removed/reinstalled several times.
My device's serial number doesn't show up on the list. Any ideas?

Try the drivers from FTDIChip... First choose the USB Serial Converter... Worked with me :-)
