WEll I had the buttons out to test the readings on them so i clipped the wires to one side and brought it on to photograph it so I connected my meter to it and get slightly better readings they tended to stay a bit more stable with it out of the car but here are the pics. also ford lists a ohm for each button but i have yet to be able to get the right number for them i tryed adding a resister to the wire and got a constant reading however I can't get one with out one.

Thanks,
Yonu

ok i was playing with it and managed to get a solid reading of 500ohms if i hold the button for just under 1 sec and it will hold at 500ohms this is without any resisters added

evermind i get a reading of around 500ohms from both buttones on the panel I am gonna get a new meter that is more sensitive tomorrow and see what i can come up with

well I adjusted my analog multimeter turns out it was out of adjustment possibly from being tossed around in the car and started getting a reading on the buttons i took in both gave me the same reading so i took to random resisters i had and soldered to the wires fro them now one button has a resistance of 680 and one has a resistance of around 5100ohms have to find my digital meter for the exact number i will try the same thing with the other button panel tomorrow perhaps then i can get to work building the converter to feed them into my keyboard encoder.

Thanks,
Yonu

Well if you get solid readings or readings that dont fluctuate as much, I can help with the design. It should be really simple.

ok I got the following readings with the other panel out of the car turns out the buttons were worn out out and moving on the connectors after i fixed that it reads 120ohms on one 2200ohms on the other and 680ohms on one so i have to change one of the one of the resistors on the other panel as it is also 680ohms I will retest the readings after i put the panels back int eh car to make sure they have the same readings

Thanks again,
Yonu

ok when remounted and hooked back into the steringwheel harness the best i can come up with as i can't find my digital meter and havn't had a chance to go get another one is readings of 2200ohms, 680ohms, 120ohms, and 470ohms those are the readings for 4 buttons i have got to disassemble my wheel again and change the resister on the 5th button as when i hooked it back up it get a reading that my meter can't even register so i will get that one changed a bit later are the 4 buttons enough info to start with or are all of the readings required to know what to get?

Thanks again,
Yonu
