What's cool is he's using a web server to send data from the car to the phone. However, what he does is run a PC in the car and use an evdo modem to upload the data to a server. Then, he pulls the data off the web and onto the phone. Very cool.
I wonder though, if you couldn't just forgo the modem in the car, cool as it is, and just make do with a WiFi router in the car. Then, you could connect to that network using your iPhone.
The reason I'm interested in this is to reduce the need for a computer in the car. I'd like to do something like this except using a Sheeva plug $99 plug-top computer. I think it would be pretty cool to have a 'helper' computer running this as a php server.
I don't know much about the possibility of doing this but I *think* it is possible.
