7" laptop thats "slides" into single Din

Hi,

My latest attempt for a carpc is to use a cloudbook (japanese version) it already has the touch screen built in.

but i want 3 things in my mount.

1) When not in use the laptop must be completely hidden wneh not in use.
B) resonable easily removeable.
iii) Its not meant o be a dedicated carpc, hopefully have dual OS's for carpc (default) and normal XP.

The only way i can work this out is fo rthe laptop to fold the rotate and go side first into a spare din slot.

The Laptop will also be help to the slide rails via simple clamps/clips and or velcro or other material like that.

Now does anyone hae any idea of how to design the rails

I've got a few which i'm drawing up at the moment, will post soon

Sounds cool. I don't want a dedicated carpc either. The cloudbook is by Everex, right? Too bad the U.S. version isn't touchscreen capable.

I think the ultraportable laptops are wider than DIN. Get specs on the one you want beforehand.
The best and cheapest UP laptop right now is the acer aspire ONE. Features, quality, and price can't be beat. Remember most of the Linux SSD disk versions run XP VERY slowly since the write speeds on those drives are very poor. Of course some are also proprietary connections too, and can't be swapped with normal HDD.... do your RESEARCH before you drop down cash....

actually i already got the cloudbook.

yes it is Wider than a DIN, but thats why i want to rotate the laptop then slide it in the din space.

The aspire did not have a touch screen so i did'nt look into it and i dont want to mod a touch screen.

boot times are not too much of an issue currenlty its about 1min on a full Winxp tablet install. I'm sure i can get that lower, but even at 1min its ok for me.

i already have a via m10k m2-atx carpc, but i broke the touch screen (dropped it while open...) so i've decided to make that my Bittorrent machine and get a laptop instead of buying a new screen. The cloud i got was cheaper than a new screen.
