Laptop Choice?

So I'm thinking of getting a laptop to use in my car. I was thinking of getting one of these Laptops, but not sur which would be best:

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6864 - $1150

2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 4 GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive
15.4" Display
Vista Premium

2) Lenovo Thinkpad SL400 - $1000

2.26GHz Intel Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 2GB DDR2 SDRAM / 250GB Hard Drive / DVD±RW
14.1in 1280 x 800 Display / Intel GMA X4500HD / Gigabit Ethernet, IEEE 802.11a+b+g, IEEE 802.11n (draft), Bluetooth
Win XP Pro / 5.5lb(s)

Is the extra $150 for the Toshiba worth it?

It is a little bigger in size, but seems to have more ram and Hard Drive. Which one do you think would be the fastest, or are they basicly the same speed?

Would either of these work ok for a carpc? Anyone ones to recommend?

Yikes, is no one familiar with either of these laptops? That's not a good sign.

Go with a cheap laptop with a docking station

Are you using your laptop for multiple uses? If not, then consider your needs. I am using an older IBM R51 with a Pentium M 1.6 and 768MB of RAM. More than enough for a front end, music, and GPS software.

More importantly, adocking station will allow you to mount and control the laptop easily, as well as remove it without connecting and disconnecting any cables. So if you are looking for a nicer, multi-use laptop, make sure you find one with a dock as it will simplify your life
