Laptop and m2atx

Ok I did some searching around and I have a question...

I have 2 m2atx power supplies from my last 2 projects which got scraped... =/ and they are sitting here collecting dust.

I picked up an averatec netbook from my job right before they went out of business (circuit city) for a buck... it had a broken screen and no battery so I figure its perfect for a carpc. ( I was also trying to avoid the spending of money since I am now out of a job lol)

Now. I read that the best way to power these things is with the cig adapter which is probably what ill be doing.

The question.... For auto startup and shut down... Can't you wire up the pins that you would hook up to a PC switch to the laptop switch? I searched around and I didn't see anyone attempt this...

if I remember correctly its a black and red wire going from the m2 to the PC's motherboard power switch.

What would be great about this is having the auto shutdown and start up, while at the same time you have ports to power extra accessories from the m2...

Suggestions, ideas, thoughts?

Well I had some time today and pulled apart the laptop. Test the switch and found the two points I had to solder.

Got everything back together hooked it up to the M2-ATX and starts up and shuts down perfectly...
