Laptop Processing Speed

So I started to look at overclocking my laptop. I found out that there really is no need. The main reason for this, is that almost all laptops never are running at their full processor speed due to speed stepping. If you run some diagnostics, you will find that the cpu is never running close to full, even when you set the laptop on power option as desktop / always running.

I wanted to pass on a small piece of software that I have been using for a few months now. It is called speedswitch xp. This software allows you to set the cpu at max speed at all times depending on battery or AC use. I used to be running the cpu at 35 to 45% with only RideRunner and Winamp. I am now regularly at under 10%.

I had nothing to do with writing this software, just found it very useful in speeding up my laptop, and thought I would pass it on.

Here is a link to speedswitch xp.

Let me know what you think.
