UMPC as a semi-perm CarPC Solution (Suggestions Welcomed)

First of all, this site and forum is dope! I just discovered it earlier this week along with others after making a UMPC purchase on Monday, but I'm sure I'll learn a lot more from here.

Well, as my title clearly states, I decided to go the cheap(er) and easy (or more like, lazy) route for my CarPC and just bought me the Viliv S5 after checking out many reviews, unboxings and etc. Actually, what really happened is the more I read about it, the more I wanted it. And to make sure I would make use of it and justify it's purchase (which I do with all my gadgets), I decided I would make it my dedicated [but not exclusive] CarPC.

That's where I would like to hear your opinions and suggestions. Ideally, I would like to be able to mount it securely somewhere on my dash, and quickly connect it to my G35's stock Bose stereo and still be able to connect other devices to it, like my Smartphone, Touch, and external HD or DVD-ROM drive, or etc. I was thinking somewhere in between how this guy did it here:

and how this guy connected it and uses it here:

I know that the first step is to buy an AUX Input adapter and RCA-to-3.5mm audio jack cable...

But, is there anything else you can think of and any other suggestions?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Marvin Hlavac will become famous soon enough
Hi D1zzl3, and congrats on the purchase of your Viliv S5. I read up on it, too, and if I were in the market to get a new PC I think I would have hard time resisting buying one as well. I think I would just keep it simple by using a windshield suction cup mount. That way it would be in the line of my sight while driving, which is usually the safest. But it very much depends on your particular vehicle. You may find another location for it that may suit your needs better.

Thanks, Martin. I think you're right in the sense that I should use the included car mount for at least a while to see how it works there, and get comfortable with the PC as well, and then try other places on my car. I just got a message that I'll be getting it on Tuesday, so I'll be experimenting then.

I just wanted to see if anyone here had experiences using a UMPC as their main stereo or entertainment unit and if there's dis/advantages using A2DP vs. AUX input, and etc. I'll share what I find out if anyone's interested, I guess.

See the Viliv X70 that is about to come out? Would put that against a built in computer.

Got the S5 for travel and think it's going to do great. Runs StreetDeck great! Now just need the Europe version and I can retire my magellan.
