Welcome to the laptop forum

Welcome, this forum is dedicated to the support of installing a laptop in your car. For this forums purpose the term "Laptop" is also ment to cover tablets & UMPC's.

laptops used to be very expensive slower computers with screens, that cost way more than there equivelent desktop. Today this is no longer the case, laptops are now much more affordable & powerful while still retaining all of the good qualities that a carpc will benifit from, namely a small form factor, low power consumption by design & some of the most efficient pc's available.

there are many ways to install a laptop in a car, everything from just having a laptop dock into a docking station, to total dissasembly just using the motherboard in it's own custom case. A laptop can be less than an inch thick and allow installs that could be achieved no other way. Yes, laptops do have there own set of unique issues but in the coming months & years we should expect laptop/ tablet/ UMPC installs to increase substaintially, & that's what this forum is here to support.
