Generic laptop docking station?????

I've been searching for a couple of weeks for a generic docking station. The closest I've found is that Targus thing, but it appears to me to be an overpriced usb hub. Does anyone know of one? and possibly have it include cooling fans?(just a shot in the dark.

thanks

In most cases, unless it's a model specific/manufacturer docking station, it will be a glorified usb hub (port replicator).

I haven't seen a generic one plug into the bottom of a laptop and replicate the power switch.

And you won't see one anytime soon! Each and every docking port on different laptop models/brands are different and have different pinouts.

The laptop might not be made for a docking station.
