Kohjinsha SH6? Anybody ever use one?

I'm thinking about postponing my carpc project for now, as I'm moving in a little over a week, but I still need some sort of mobile computer in the car for GPS and general entertainment along the way for my passenger. Has anybody ever used the SH6, or better yet has anybody used the SH6 for GPS functions, etc?

For just over a grand (USD) shipped from Japan, I'm thinking it's the best "ready-to-go" solution I'll find.

The CPU is a bit slow, but they'll supposedly play HD Divx files and what-not without any hiccups. I don't have any experience with USB GPS receivers under Windows Vista [wretch], but I can't imagine navigation being all that CPU intensive...

For the trip I'd still use my current audio setup, so pretty much all the SH6 would be doing while driving is navigation, then playing some videos and surfing the interwebs when stopped, which I know it could do.

But yeah, lemme know what you guys think...

It sounds interesting, but I don't have one. Functions as a normal laptop, just smaller, from what I've heard from other forums.

You're going to have to pay quite a bit to get it shipped to the US in less than a week from Japan.

It's on its way actually...

shipping was only about $80 or so for EMS Express... Should hopefully take only 4 days or so to get here [crosses fingers].

I've seen people run the same software (streets and trips 2007 and iGuidance for navigation) on an OQO Model 02, and that had a comparable CPU but a quarter of the RAM and less than a third the hard drive space (the cheaper model), so I'm just hoping all is well once it gets here...

The only problem I foresee is the lack of a dvd drive, but it'll boot from a USB 2.0 drive, so I should be good.

I'll try and post a review of it once I get under way to help out other people feeling a bit adventurous, assuming it gets here before I leave...
