OQO vs U810

Ok, so I've been looking at using a UMPC as my carputer and my searches have lead me to 2 UMPCs.

First is the OQO model 02. This one is pretty much what I'd love to have. A touchscreen computer that I can use while driving then pull out and put in my pocket when I get out. Plain and simple, easy to do. Only problem with this is the price. It's definitely expensive for the perfomance you get out of it.

The second is the Fujitsu U810. This thing is great. It's a little under powered compared to the OQO but it doubles as a laptop. It's larger and you can't put it in your pocket but it's small enough to be able to find a place for it while not in the vehicle. This one has a true touchscreen (OQO has active digitizer) and a mounting system with a built in GPS module available aftermarket. It's also considerably less expensive than the OQO.

Truth be told, I'm torn. I go back and forth between the two every few hours or so. I won't be getting anything for a couple of months and in that time, the OQO may come down in price (hey a guy can dream) which would make the decision quite a bit easier. Customer service with the OQO is insane. Posting on another website, I have personally been replied to by the CEO of the company. Apparently, he frequents that site and posts often responding to angry concerns and positive feedback alike. You can't beat that.

Basically, if anyone has experience using either of these as a carputer, I'd love to know how they compare. Something to tip the scales one way or another really. If not, I may go insane before purchasing either.

The U810 is actually the faster machine (it is just slower to boot up because it has aero and a lot of junk installed). All the people I have read who have both machines say the U810 is faster than the OQO.
I have the OQO, and have watched videos of U810 applications loading, with suggests to me the U810 is faster.

both have forums with U810 owners (some own OQOs too)

Keyboard for Carputer

Have you considered a one handed FrogPad as the data entry device for the Carputer.

Thanks for the reply, it helps. Now to throw another product into the mix, the Sony UX. This thing seems a bit toy-like to me but the specs show that it's faster than the other two. The price lies somewhere between the OQO and the U810 and it's portability lies between them as well. Although, admittedly, I am less enamored by the Sony than the other two. Screen size is a bit smaller as well. At 4.5 inches it's the smallest of the three. It is touchscreen but on a screen so small, is it usable? Apparently, my indecisiveness knows no bounds.
