Seen as my laptop has just fried in the car (see the hardware thread i got running if you use BMW ibus) http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/gene...-new-post.html

Hopefully the parts in the laptop are salvageable ie the RAM, hard drive. Seen as the whole project was wired up around that model of laptop (Sony FX-401 800mhz duron) including the DC power pack, and startup controller, im thinking of just getting the next model up (from the fx401), and upgrading it with the older components from the laptop which would save alot of work (They should all fit as long as the parts still work of course!)

Il have left 1x128mb ram, 1x512mb ram and a 120gb hard drive

Wot do you think of these specs? or for the money should i just cut my losses and get a more modern spec for the money?
