Old dell Latitude cpi laptop pci cardbus to drivers

I was given a old dell Latitude cpi laptop and I have installed tinyXP on it but I am having a hard time finding drivers for the PCI to cardbus bridge. I went on Dell's site but the newest drivers they have are for windows 2000. I tried them but they wont work. Does anyone know of a way to remedy this situation? If not is there another PC related forum that any of you guys go to that may have more information?

Thanks for any help I really appreciate it.....d

I have an old CPXj that I've been using. I tried TinyXP on it and had the same results as you. I searched high and low and tried several drivers I found for the cardbus controller, but could never find one that worked properly.

I finally just gave up and went with a regular install of XP and disabled as many services from starting up as possible. It's certainly not as zippy as my newer laptops but it's usable.

I think there is a newer TinyXP version (6 ?) but I haven't tried it. If you find one that works please post the link info or the driver here.

Good luck,
Z

Thanks for the reply...I didn't know the pci cardbus would work with the full version. I'll try that.If I can find a better version of tinyXP I'll let you know.

EDIT_____I found a vista lite build..I'm gonna try that and see what happens..Not a big fan of vista but it's better than windows 2000.

Well the vista lite works pretty good. The cd is about 700 megs. I thought I formated my hard drive before the install but for some reason I'm still using over 4 gigs with the vista install. The pcimia slots are working now which is good but now I forgot what sound drivers I used...It seems to be working as good as could be expected with a 330 processor and 256 megs of ram...

Way cool, I may try that myself. Vista is supposed to boot faster than XP. I have a P3-650 but it would be nice to speed it up a bit if I keep using it.

XP should be much better if you strip out the un-needed services. Use to run an old CPi laptop for my v2 of my carputer.
