My Everest Software monitors my Laptop CPU and Core Temperature. I was getting concern how hot my temperature is. I just purchased this laptop. Here is my temperature readings.
CPU: 145 F (average)
Core 1: 126 F (average)
Core 2: 126 F (average)
I tried playing a game just to see how high it goes.
CPU: 165 F
Core 1: 152 F
Core 2: 152 F
1 hour of gaming.
Should i be concerned about my laptop temperature. I do not use it for gaming. But my AMD 64 Athlon X2 chip sure seems to run hot. Is this normal?
well, I know that the Pentium m's had some of the highest core temp tolerances & could go as high as 200F & still be within operating parameters, I don't know off hand what the limits of your chip is, but a quick google should tell you if you need to worry or not, my guess is you probably don't need to really worry until you start to approach like 170+ at least, but that's nothing more than just a guess...

I don't know what the thermal limits are on that processor either, however I'm getting pretty concerned when my CPU temp is anything above 150. Yeah, it might be within spec, but as we all know heat is the enemy of any electronic device. Your temps sound pretty high to me.
oh yeah, that's not to say I wouldn't rather have it not so hot either, but about the only thing you can do is make sure theres no dust clogging the vents & don't use the laptop on a soft surface like a bed or something, cause that'll block airflow too.... otherwise the cooling ability is really determined by toshibas design...

Very true...Although I thought that some company was making a laptop cooler than installs under the laptop...kind of a pad with a fan in it. I don't know if they work worth a crap or not, but it might be something to considder.
