Check BIOS settings

Figure out how to enter you BIOS settings on boot up, which is often shown when first powering the computer on and is generally accessed by holding one of these keys: [ESC], [F1], [F2], [F10], [F11], [F12], [DE]).

Once in the BIOS, check to see if you have an option for video output. It should give you choices of the laptop screen, external screen, or both. This is how it will boot. I prefer to have it set to only boot to the external screen while being used as my carputer.

You should be able to change the screen output using the keyboard function keys, as this just sets the boot up condition.

Hope this helps...
