Lenovo X31

hi all,
i have a lenov X31. pretty decent laptop and i am trying to put an external power switch so i can turn it on and off. the problem that i am running in to is that the power switch is embedded on the keyboard. does anyone have any idea on how to do this. Any ideas would be great.
