Thx in advance for any feedback.
Wow, my search engine must be on super sleuth cause there's lots to be found.

Warpath and I both run the same kind of tablets, along with at least a dozen or so others with various models and installs. Some are indash, ours are removeable. Mine uses the minidock in three different cars (i.e., one computer three carputer setups - all working identically.)
I also have a travel kit I assembled for simple navigation, MP3 library, wifi, phoco, etc. in a rental car using the same computer as above. I've even used it in Canada, Bahamas, Eastern and Western Europe. Lastly, it doesn't restrict my usage to just one car - it works on buses, trains, and several aircraft that I've flown/riden. (Although, GPSSecure gets confused at 550mph)
Most tablet mounts I've seen or created were just that: extremely customized (read homemade) mounting brackets and stands. Does your Tablet have a docking station? If so, what ports are available on it? If not, how do you plan to connect power and peripherals? Using a desktop docking station is a two edged sword in most cases. For the newer tablets, the dock cost more than my entire setup including peripherals. Many are large and bulky with little additional peripheral support than the tablet itself. Some have internal HD/DVD/CD-RW which makes in-car mounting that much more of a challenge.
Not many pics on the board here. Check out the avatars for
Warpath and
DodgeCummins.
Here are some pics of my Caddy install. The Mustang and Mercedes are the same except for different joystick in Mustang and wireless mouse in Mercedes.
