pfft....a laptop? that would be extremely difficult......there is no possible way you'd ever be able to do that....unless you design laptops and power controllers for a living. If you're not an electrical engineer, i'd suggest you find a new hobby.

I considered using a laptop also. I can't see why it wouldn't work!!! Use a docking station and powersupply for it.

Mine wakes up from standby in 3sec, much faster than any other PC I have tried. And it wakes on USB, so I would be able to just touch the screen and have it wake!

What am I missing?? Why would one need to be an electrical engineer!???

search the forum, try to find a dc-dc power adapter for your laptop, and look into standalone shutdown controllers, as you will not want the system running while your car is off.

Search the FAQs to learn how.

Easiest was for sound is to go to RCA in (on your headunit or amp), easiest way to power it is an auto adapter. Startup with car is tough for laptops, search for some workarounds. Shutdown is easy via power controls.

thats probably one of the dumbest "kits" i've ever seen.

first of all inverters are highly in-efficient,....you've got a laptop.....designed to take dc-dc.....why bring AC into the picture ....if you've already got a DC source?

secondly.....no shutdown controller.
