laptop vga output

Everytime i turnoff or restart my laptop it doesnt recognize my touchscreen monitor. i have to hit "Fn" and "lcd/crt" in order to switch to the external screen. is there a way for it to stay on the vga out without having to manually switch it over every time ?

Check int he BIOS configuration. Most laptops have a setting in there for which video to use as primary. Most laptops are set to the laptop's LCD by default.
