Post serial ports and laptops

Hello there,

I've noticed that most laptops only have one serial port and I was wondering what the best solution for adding a serial port might be (excluding usb converters)?

I've seen PCMCIA serial cards, but they are kind of expensive (like $100 and up). Otherwise it's USB-to-serial.

Or, if your laptop has a docking station option, that might give you more ports, but that's not really practical...

Yeah, all of those options are rather expensive. Actually, I was looking into some type of parellel port to serial port adapter but haven't found a thing.
