New Samsung Tablet PC
This could be a extremely good alternative to a car pc for about 1000USD

i personally think that it is very cool but may be on the large side if you want to put it in a dash

Thats the first thing i thought of when i heard of the UMPCs. you could even make a dock or something to make it easily removable.

And where's the challenge in that? Where's the enjoyment of a personnal, custom install. Naaaaah, that's for "cheaters"

Wouldnt be any easier than any other install. Still need to fab some kind of dock. Need a startup/shutdown solution. Need dock detection software to know when to boot into your frontend.

I dont know about that specific model, but some UMPCs have been demonstrated using regular touch input (with or without a pen). I will seriously consider one for my next install. Of course doing everything custom is nice, but this would be a good easy solution. If installation time is limited it might be worth it to just slap one of these in and call it done.
