Using Laptop Components in a Standard Case?

I have a emachines 5310 laptop which the screen is broke on. Is there anyway to use the motherboard, processor, and memory - implemented in a seperate carpc case? So that this way I could use a startup/shutdown system. Or do they make an external one that I could use with the laptop.

It also has an s video/moniter out so I should be fine on hooking up the touchscreen?

You can remove the system board and all in the laptop and put it in whatever kind of case you want if that is really what you'd like to do. I can tell you that laptops aren't easy to take a part but if you take your time and use patience you can figure out which pieces to remove and such. If and when you take the laptop out of the case you can connect a monitor with VGA to the monitor output on the back just like any ol' desktop. With that said though when you remove the case unless you fabricate another battery compartment you'll probably have to run off the cable exclusively. Long story short, sure you can take your laptop out of it's shell and put it into a custom fabricated box...
