No USB 2 on Laptop

Hello All.

I've just been happily playing around with my Maplin's USB DAB receiver, soldering on (hehe) a new aerial which works a treat. This was all on my normal PC.

Plugged it into my carpc's laptop to discover/notice that the receiver is USB2 only. THe laptop has no USB 2!

My lappy is a Tulip Topline 300, no PCMCIA, no cardBUS, no USB2. Only thing it does have is a firewire, which apparently won't help.

Apparently it does have a 'MINI-PCI' interface, which is for the 'integrated wireless lan module (optional)'. Any good you think?

SO, do I have any options with this DAB receiver, short of scrapping it and getting a new laptop?

Thanks for help in advance!
Sam

I've found some MiniPci-USB adapters. However, it would probably be cheaper to replace the laptop than buy one of these.......

EDIT: Current best is here, which i did find a while ago. The price is OK, but at another $41 for shipping to the UK!.......

Quite interesting. My notebook does not have usb 2.0, but it has usb 1.1... and a mini pci which is occupied by wifi... how does tHIS card work out? I mean, connect or solder headers to it? seems to be a tight space for headers connectors. hmm... are those four large copper landing panels for soldering?

I'd love to see a larger /clearpic of this card if anyone has it.
