I can't get my laptop to display 800x480

Ok, n00b question here and yes I searched. I have a feeling that the answer is out there, but I just can't find it.

Plain and simple, I can't get my laptop (Dell XPS M-140) to display 800x480 for my Xenarc. I have tried messing around with PowerStrip, but somehow the results I'm looking for are eluding me. The lowest setting I get is 800x600 and when running the Xenarc 700TSV at that resolution, it works but doesn't look right.

So, if you would be so kind as to help me figure this thing out or point me in the direction of the answer that would be great.

TIA
