Custom LCD Install?

Hey im starting my carpc project now!, now my car has 2 Single DINS (im doing a car pc to the 94 mx6, and 95 rx7, so I have to do some cutting and fabing to make this work.

This is an Mx6 dash http://www.tss-radio.com/images/MZ-51-93-1_2.jpg

As you can see its two single dins, im going to have to cut out the center peace use some bondo and fiberglass, its going to be tight, I want to lose the buttons, im only wanting to use VGA input (no need for switching), I want it to come on and go off with the car (no on/off button), no adjustment, is there a unit I can hack apart to do just this? I read about taking the lilput apart to extend controls, but can I completely lose them

That is the normal way to do it. Just taking the buttons off, look in the completed projects forum and you will see hundreds of such installations.

ok I want to have the screen all fiber glassed right... now I seen a picture of a DVD drive up front, this looks nice.

http://cykoautomotive.com/pics/carpc/cpcwithcd.jpg

now I'm putting the carputer in trunk, so ill need a USB-IDE converter right? this one looks like it does desktop and laptop drives

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...1517&CatId=470

so i plan on running that, so once again can ill do all this for USB (the vroom 2 has 8 USB 2.0 ports apparently

Touchscreen
USB-IDE
USB port up front in dash (for mp3 players)
GPS
Bluetooth
Dlink USB wireless network card
USB motorola cable (for control, and using bluetooth dongle for the audio bridge, apparently this is only way for Motorola phones, this also shows up as a modem and lets me connect to the internet for 10000dollars a kilobyte lol)

So last time, I want a screen with no mechanical buttons, if there’s one like that that I don’t have to MOD what is it? I mean it would be nice if there’s one with 3 wires, ground, positive, and remote on, IS THERE!? Lol

thats heaven lol, EXACTLY what i was looking for! that cuts the buttons out of the equation correct?
so i would program the monitor for auto-on first i assume, it looks like on the 619 you lose the daughter board with the buttons, and i assume the IR receiver? or is a hardware auto on included in those directions for the 619?

and on the 929 it looks like you get the switch board just relocate it out of site.... interesting, looks like the 929 is the better choice, yes?
