Thankyou creaseguard much appreciated.

I'm also assuming these are all modified Intel Embedded Graphics Drivers, thus they will have the hibernation/standby issue discussed.

Just found another thread discussing the use of DTDcalculator, in order to write the proper information into your registry to allow your graphics drivers to output custom resolutions.

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-...-graphics.html

Would this be the prefered method?

Regards,
DEM_968.

Not sure.

I know I played with these drivers a bit and what I found was the Xenarc would show the res as 800x480 but XP would be reporting 800x600 or sometimes 720x480. I could then get windows to show 800x480 but the Xenarc would display 800x600. I never could get the two to jive to one another.

One thing though, those files will ONLY give you the option for 800x480...no other res is available. I noticed on a couple programs I'm running that I need to have 1024x768 to get to some of the setup menus. However, once they are setup, I can go back to the 800x600 and I'm fine...so I need to be able to go to a higher res from time to time.

I find the 800x600 to be pretty nice....and I might just keep it there as I was never sure if I was getting 800x480...and when I did, it wasn't that crisp, the 800x600 looked better.

I've seen one other thread around here that rec using powerstrip and the timing settings on the Xenarc page. I have yet to try that as I hope that might give me the 800x480 option along with the other res options.

Has anyone got 800x480 resolution on GM965 integrated graphics? IF so can u provide me with a working driver?? I can't seem to get this sucker working but i think it has something to do with the fact that my monitor can't do 800x480.

I have an MSI Fuzzy GM965 board, and I have it working in 840x480. All you need to do is get DTD calculator (search for it) and use the resolution timings from the xenarc site. That's what I did. What happens for me is that the computer starts up in 840x480 with scrolling, but after roadrunner starts it switches to non-scrolling (the normal mode).

If your monitor can't display it, the driver won't help. What kind of monitor? That will determine what driver you need, in addition to the chipset.

I have a 965GM chipset and I'm testing things on my HP2207 monitor. I can just test and see if the monitor can support it but i figured it should be able to handle it.

If your monitor can't do 840x480 but you want to use that resolution, you're pretty much stuck. If, on the other hand, you want to use the method I did, then you don't have to change the driver; just use the program and it should list 840x480 in the list of available resolutions. I say should because it might or it might not. It might even depend on whether you use XP or Vista. The only way to find out is to try it out.
