LCD making me crazy! Plz, help!

Hey guys..
I'm from brazil, and i'm starting to buy everything to put my carPC on. Here in brazil we don't have this pc, so its very difficult to find the parts, and people who can help me, so i decided to post here..
Please, i tryed to find in brazil this informations, but no one could help me.

My first doubt: i'm going to buy the via ephia-800 motherboard with c3 processor 800mhz, that i found in brazil. but the difficulty is on the lcd screen. I found here a touchscreen but the plug of that is RCA (so, it has one plug red, one white, one yellow). my question is: If I plug the yellow RCA of the screen in that plug of the motherboard, I can use it with the touchscreen function?
I read here that in USA is common to find LCD with USB plugs, but here we don't have it.
So, this screen is simple, it has touchscreen function, but i'm afraid to buy this one and can't use it completelly (image+touchscreen function).

Other question is: Can I use a HD pluged into a usb to run the pc? isn't is slow? here in brazil, we have much holes in the street, so i want to put on HD that support more impact, like and external HD via USB.
Can I use it nomally??

Guys, sorry for my english,
it's very very difficult to put things on to the computer here, we don't have information about it.

thanks a lot!!!
Eric

You can use the epia, or you can use a cheapo micro-atx mobo and old pc parts. That is what I did. $32 for motherboard.

That is the video and right and left stereo sound channels. So it has nothing to do with touch screen.

There must be some way to connect the touchscreen to the PC if it actually has one. It will probably be serial or USB.

On HDD
External hard drives are not tougher than internal hard drives so I would not waste your money. They are exactly the same thing, one is just shoved into a box. Get a laptop hard drive if you can as they are built to deal with a higher shock value.

Eric: you'll need an adapter cable, of course, to connect the laptop-sized-hdd to the desktop's IDE channel

some times i use a laptop while offroading, and i haven't had any problem with the laptop's hdd (at least, not yet). and offroading is a lot harder than some holes in the street

Hi, the LCD screen you mentioned seems to be a DVD screen. You should look for a high-resolution screen. These screens come with a VGA cable, not RCA.

I bought mine from mp3car.com and had that shipped to a hotel in USA where a friend of mine was staying. He will bring that to me when he comes back (few days) to Brazil.

If you dont have somebody that is traveling to USA, you can always have it shipped to Brazil, but as you may know the taxes are very high.

Anyway, I just think that it is not a good idea to buy a low resolution screen for a CarPC, you wont be happy and probably will have to buy another screen (VGA).
