Shortening VGA cable to LCD

I'm planning on using a 15" TFT between the passenger and driver seats (yes, it fits, it's in a Chevy Suburban). The input cable is permanently attached to the display and I need to shorten it.

Anyone have experience with this?

I'm not concerned about the actually cutting the wires and putting in a new plug. I'm more interested in how this will affect the display, interference, etc.

Thanks

I don't see why making it shorter should add interference or noise, normally you run into those problems when extending cables. I think you'll be fine as long as you reconnect all wires properly (good connections).

I could be wrong though.
