Xenarc DIN Mount
Okay, I made up a preliminary drawing on that LCD mount that I mentioned in another post.
I took it over to quoting and they told me that it would probably not be worth it to produce them unless we needed quantities of more than one thousand. I doubt that we are going to be able to do that, so I'm only going to make one for myself. Sorry about that.
Here's a link to the drawing in PDF format format if you guys care to look.
I may send this to Xenarc and see what they think. If they can order in quantity, then I could definately get some set aside for the group.

Hey that looks really neat, I take it the last view is what it would look like before it's bent?
I wonder if we could make those ourselves...

That's similar to the bracket that is sold by panavise.com and pro-fit-intl.com for my car.

I'm still waiting for mine to show up...

UPDATE:
Geee, I go upstairs to get the mail and what do I see?
The bracket sitting in the corner.
Don't you love it when you get a package and no one in the house tells you?
I wonder how long it was here.
Looking at it, it's amazing they charge as much as they did for this. Man I miss getting everything at cost...

Lag117 - Yes, you can make this yourselves. I'll post the completed drawings when I'm finished. I really overbent this thing, as I still haven't really taken measurements from my car. It was just a proof of concept so far. And BTW the flat pattern is there. It's the one at the very bottom.
Again these are just sketches. I will post the actual part when I'm sure it's good.
m3rdpwr - That's really similar to my idea. Wonder if I saw that before, and was subconsciously inspired by it.
That would work, but the part that they use for the new Eclipses attaches to the 'ceiling' of the glove box. WAY to far for the driver to use touchscreen. I generally only use it at a stoplight, but I'd throw out my back trying to reach that far. And, mine would work with the Xenarc out of the box, with theirs you'd end up making an adapter plate anyway!
Mario, How much did they charge you? What were you willing to pay if you didn't have to hack the rest of the mount together?
At quantities of around 50, which I don't think we could actually unload here, it would be (after powdercoating) almost $20US a piece. However at around 20 pieces, which is more reasonable, it would be around $40US. But on the plus side, I think I can ship worldwide.

It was supposed to be $25 + shipping and tax.
I think it may be a little more.
But believe me when I tell you, it's a real small piece.
I'll take a pic of it with something else so you can tell.
Now seeing how small it is, I wish I got the optional brackets and swivel mounts to extend it further from the Radio.
Also, since it only uses one screw to hold it in, I may not be able to use it. I will probably bend one up just like it that uses additional screws...

I tried, but I only have a left handed drill...
Time to break out the right handed hammer!
Sorry for the bad pics, I used my web cam since I was too lazy for the good camera.
As you will see, no drill is gonna' help me...

 WOW!
Why make something that freaking beefy if your only going to use one screw to hold it on?

That's what I'm thinking.
That's why I will build something identical with multiple screw points...
Can't blame them though, was only meant to hold a cell phone...

How thick is that plate? I was thinking of using .045" Steel, but that looks like .060".

It didn't say in the book and I couldn't find my mic.
But, from what I could tell from my spark plug gapper and feeler gauge, it's definately .060" territory...
