Question Anyone figure out how to splice their Xenarc into their PSU?

Just like the thread title says.. I'm curious because I really don't want to have to go out and buy an inverter just to run one LCD.. I would really like to just splice it in to my computer's PSU... anyone achieve this yet?

just go to the old radio shack, frys, or what ever place you have take your power pack with you and find a plug that is the same size. Then find out what wire is positive and just wire that into your psu should be no big deal... BUT check to make sure the 12v your psu puts out is the right ampage.... I sent my xenarc back so I don't have the psu to look but I think its 12v @ .6A and different psus put out different values to make sure you check

I have one of Jeff's famous MPBS1's but I don't have it with me at the moment do you think it would be safe to splice into the MPBS1 PSU?

The back of my Xenarc says DC 10-36V.

Your car battery output is within that range. I would imagine you could plug it into your cigarrette lighter or connect to your ACC line or any way you want to get power from the car.

I don't think you need to wire it through your computer PS. I suppose you could if you wanted to. I would put a fuse in the line whatever you do, however.

I haven't tried this with mine yet, but I will eventually.

I also read on here somewhere that someone fried their Xenarc by plugging it right up to the car battery and someone suggested that wiring it into your PSU would ensure that the LCD would get a clean 12V of power.

BTW: What size fuse should I put in the line.

that was CNG1 that blew his I think. We ended up figuring out that he wired it in reverse polarity. Positive to negative and all that.
