So I got some new 8" lilliputs about a month or so ago. So I go to swap it into my existing frame and notice a few things.
The factory menu is accessible on the new ones unlike my old one.
I notice a few differences in construction. One, the button board is different. Not only is it different, so are the buttons. I almost broke the new button board trying to use the old buttons. On my old lilliput, all of the buttons have standoffs, not so on the new one, only the Menu button does, the rest are flat.
Second, I open her up and I notice the mounts that hold the LCD to the front half of the case are attached with screws to the LCD housing, not so on the older one, they are just pressing the lcd to the front of the case, the holes line up though. The newer setup feels more solid.
The touchscreen on the newer models looks a little bit different
The IR window on the older model is square, on the newer ones, slightly rectangular, you can't swap them which is a pain as I lost the ones for my old one (and the spare cases from digitalWW).
The Axis on TS are inverted compared to my old one.
Anyone else ever notice anything like this? I did some searches but didn't see anything so I figured I'd post it for posterity
I guess maybe the shape of the IR will be a hint to all those trying to figure if there older 8" lilliputs are programmable.
I'll post pics later.
