Its possible I guess, but I didn't notice a way to do it. Then again, I didn't really look for a way to do it either. I guess i wouldn't know since my plans were to mold the screen in only and not the button board or case

That is a sweet install. I like it.

I hope mine comes out as good as yours does.

Guess you wouldn't have any pics while you were doing the install, do you?

10.4" specs

This LCD touch screen is exactly like the Lilliput 10.4" except with a friendlier price. The A/V hook-ups are different, and the Shark 10.4" doesn't generate nearly as much heat as the Lilliput.

I will be putting this into my dash in the next few days, so let me know if any one would like more pics/specs of the disassembled screen.

Much thanks to the thepunkerguy for finding this product.

I would love some pictures of you taking it apart and what you need to do to attach it to the dash etc.

Any pictures would be great. I know exactly where I'm going to put it in my dash, i just haven't figured out how to attach the panel yet.

well, I finally just bit the bullet and ordered one of the 10.4" screens. That price is just too tempting. Now to find an old computer laying around

I'll let you guys know what I think of the panel once it gets here. Thanks for the link OP!

I have attached some photos. I used some Home Depot material called QuikPlastik. It is easy to mold, and dries in 30min. It can be sanded and painted . I wish I was an expert like TurboCAD, but I pretty much took my sweet time getting the design I wanted on my dash.

I also have an access to a rapid prototype machine, so I am creating a face plate that will accommodate the rearrangement of AC controls that is mandatory since the screen is so huge. This piece will sit just above the 10.4" screen.

hope this helps, and i apologize if i wasn't supposed to reveal my set-up on this thread.

Work is still in progress, just finding the time is the hardest part. I must say this has been my coolest hobby so far.

For fellow Europeans who are cursed (blessed!!) with owning a BMW e39,
you might be interested in a 16:9 x 8 inch to fit in the radio/MID hole .. I posted this on digital-car .. I'm not a dealer, but I don't mind getting a "club" together ... http://www.digital-car.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?p=143391

THe only concern I have with this screen is the operating temps. It says -20 to 60 degrees. I dont know about you but my car get much hotter than 60 degrees during the summer and I usually like it warmer anyway in the winter so the heat comes on. The 60 degree thresh hold seems a little low and it can probably with stand a little more.
Just my concerned mind being overly concerned I'm sure.

It is 60C which equals 140F. I life in FL and my truck is so hot, and the screen is so hot from the sun when i get in that it can almost burn you, and my screen works 100% perfectly in the heat! I don't have any cooling on the screen at all and have NEVER had a problem with it. Don't worry about heat!
