Does it dim down OK for night use? Have seen a few of the cheapies that are horrible at night.
Just about talked myself into buying one to try out.
Thanks,

power to the monitor?
A quick question here for Punkerguy... How are you supplying power to the monitor? Do you have it running off of your Battery/Alternator, is it powered through your carputer, or through a power inverter?

I am running mine off the carputer M2-ATX power supply. But you could run it off your alternator or an inverter as well.. but I think running it off the carputer is the easiest. That way, when the carputer shutdown controller cuts power to the computer, it cuts power to the screen as well.

I went ahead an ordered up an 8" unit.
It was time for a new toy. Picked up the cheapy night vision camera and a 4 channel amp while I was at it. They have free shipping for carts over $200. They seem to have fairly good pricing.

Will do.. I ordered it Thursday night, and according to their web tracking, nothing has happened with the order yet. Still pending. They might just be slow in updating the web, or it may still be collecting dust on a shelf.
I hate waiting for new toys, so I have been setting up my old laptop to drive this for now, and what do you know, the CD drive is dead.. Time to toss this old pile...

I have a 98 maxima and the gooddeals customer service said that the 8" should fit in my double din. I'm not sure about this, it may just be them trying to push merchandise. Please help. I thinking that maybe without the trim panel it can. I just want to know how to do it for sure(take out the remote and channel part and move it else where)

Well, they have shipped mine out, so hopefully in a couple of days I will be able to give you some measurements.

i'm planning to get a screen soon. if u had the choice between this 8" vs the lilliput 7" one (they're almost the same price), which one would be better? but for a 10.4" one, that's a really good deal; wish i had space for a 10.4" =( . i don't have much space on my 01 maxima.

Got mine. Fast shipping. Hooked everything up and it works great. Now I am tearing it apart so I can start working on molding it into my dash and such. Problem that I see is that the ir receiver is connected to the board with the buttons. I plan to relocate the buttons so it should be ok but if you are thinking you can do away with all buttons and just operate it with the remote control, you will have to do a bit more modding to get it to work that way.

Not really , took me about 5 minutes to de-solder the IR sensor off the button board and solder in some extension wire to it. Then i just stuck the IR receiver under the dash and run it all with the remote, works great for me!
