A UK firm called Trident has an article in a UK Engineering Journal saying they have just launched a range of superbright transflective daylight readable ruggedised touch screen VGA LCD's for in-car use ranging from 4" to 12" (Both 4:3 & 16:9). Sounds like the sort of thing the Cops get to use!
No mention of prices and I can't find them on Google
Seems like PDA's, Mobile Phones, SatNavs, and Tablet PC's are driving this tech now. I recon in the next 18months every one will jump on the same band waggon and the prices will inevitably drop like they have for ordinary LCD monitors in last 18months.
And whats all this about 'lint' on the inside of the MP3CAR.com one? They went to great lengths explaining that part of the very high cost of these screens is the need for a clean room.
