yeah it was motorcitytech. I know there is liliputs out there that i could buy that are transflective. But the thing is that I, like many others, have there screens in custom housing that only fit a xenarc. Therefore were looking to upgrade our xenarcs. getting a transflective liliput is pretty much not an option.

Same here. I've went through 2 revisions of my bezel already and don't wish to do a third. So I completely understand. For me, $350 beats trying to sell my used xenarc for next to nothing and buying a transflective lilliput. Like everyone else, I wish the technology would get competitive and go down in cost, but at this point, I just want my xenarc transflective. So I'm gonna seriously consider the motorcitytech route. I'm just curious if anyone has had work done by them before and also how it compares the transflective lilliputs that are on the market already.

What is the process of upgrading a non-transflexive screen to a transflexive system?

do they take apart the acutal LCD panel and insert a layer of transflexive film button it back up and your ready to go? How is it done?

Clean room I am sure...

You all might want to hold off on placing orders with motorcitytech.
I've paid him last month, and haven't gotten a reply since or my product. The payment was 3 weeks before he responded to one of your emails for a pricequote on July 7th; my payment was June 18th. July 7th was 15 business days after my payment.

great.. I 'm having my fingers crossed on this one... It would be a shame if the only alternative turned out to be a scam.

Well I finally got a reply and there appears to be a backlog with the company that he is using for the transflective enhancement.
His reply was just 11 mins after forwarding my last email addressed to service@ to the other email addresses (helpdesk@ and sales@).
It could be just an email problem on his end cause he said he responded to all my emails.

I'm pretty sure the process involves disassembling the LCD in a clean room, but I'm not certain.

Even though you finally did get a response, I'm a little gun shy now. I'd hate to send my screen out and either never get it back or to have to go through a bunch of crap to get it back. I might hold off and see anyone else goes through them. Keep us updated on your order RealoRc.

Why dont we just find out what company he uses for his enhancement and just go straight to them to buy some kits? I want to upgrade pretty bad too. Any news on group rates?

I would be surprised if that turned out to be the case. Although I don't know him personally, he seemed to be well respected in the forums and appeared to be a stand-up kind of guy.

Maybe it's the FPD group that does the transflective enhancements for everyone reselling them. It saves money on the business end. They most likely won't sell to the end user because dealing directly with customers will just waste their time and money.
