Question: Why does everybody take apart their monitors?

I'm just wondering why everybody takes their lilliputs and xenarcs out of the frame? Is it so that you can bondo the frame to your dash and then put the lcd back in without getting it dirty?

Thanks

touchscreen overlays don't take kindly to solvents, abrasives, and paint

Okay, makes sense. Is there a tutorial for taking apart a Lilliput. I couldn't find one, I looked through the FAQ?

Thanks

I think it is in the "Everything you want to know about your lilliput" thread.

But it is really easy. Just pop off the rubber dots over the screw holes, unscrew (phillips) and it falls apart

A word of advice. Take snapshot picture along the way. I'm sure it will help you later on.
