lol i foam covered mine and coated it in hard plastic two tart epoxy...

2006 civic Si Goin' big

But im going with a 10.2" screen, for this i had to cut the whole navi section out ans start over..., i got a lot of sanding to do...


A good tio is to get a good HIGHT BUILD PRIMER and spray a light spatery coat of black paint, then can the surface to find where your low points are then use glazing putty(VERY FINE finishing putty) to fill in the low spots then sand again and prime then sand some more... here is a preview of my headache...

be sure no silicone is on the surface of the face, it's impossible to get good paint adhesion on silicone, as long as it's all covered with bondo it's good

you can use acetone(home depot) or wax and grease remover(Auto body paint supply store) to get rid of the silicone its a good solvant...

Sorry I disappeared for awhile but for anyones thats curious or attempting to do this, here is what my screen ended up looking like.
