dual (clone) screens priority with laptop

I have a vw camper.

in the back i am using a toshiba M200 tablet to watch movies etc mounted like a plasma tv. in the front i am using a touchscreen lilliput for satnav and music. I will only (mainly) use one or the other, not both.

What i want to do is
  • if the lilliput is on, i am in the front so i want the signal to go to the lilliput
  • if the lilliput is off, i am in the back so i want the signal to go to the toshiba screen

I have managed to get it to automatically go to the lilliput if i plugg in the cable to the VGA, but it always does this wether the lilliput is powered or not.
which pin on the vga wire do i need to interupt so it cannot see the lilliput?

i know i can FN+F5 but that involves twisting the screen off and accessing the keyboard.

dual view, choosing screen.

sorry for the double post, i have already asked this in laptops/pdas etc but i guess it has less visitors.

Quit crossposting.
I've merged the two threads together here in the LCD/display forum.

what are u talking about confusing. It doens't matter which screen has focus. if u click on the lilput the lilput has focus if u click on the tablet the tablet has focus plain and simple. Be more specific

when i switch on my laptop, it auto detects whether there is a vga cable in the back, if there is it automatically goes to the external monitor.

i want to know if there is a wire i can interupt in order to fool the laptop into thinking there is no VGA cable in the back of it, so it will display on the laptop.

Can't you just hit the fn key and like an F8 key to switch out of dual view?
