How are transflexive screens enhanced?

I would like to know what the process is to upgrade a non transflexive screen to transflexive.

Cost for one already done or upgraded is expensive right now to me that means its labor intensive.

What do they do to the screen?
Are they taking apart the LCD panel and spraying something on it?
The touchscreen is it being dipped into a coating?

What is taking place to make it happen?

I would like to build a clean room box and try it myself if it is possible

let me know thanks

In simple terms its taken apart and new filters and diffusers are put in. Its these parts that cost the money. They used to be available in kit form but they were still expensive.

Check out 3M's Vikuiti site for a good explanation. Even has a product selector.
