Lcd Repair

Hi I have an 12.1 IBM LCD monitor I use in my car with my "Carputer".
Recently I deceided that it might be a good idea to hook the lcd power
directly to the power supply of the computer. (it has the same voltages,5v
and 12v).... Anyway, after trying to do so it wouldn't work...so I opened it
up, to find a blown fuse. I replaced the fuse, PLUGGED IT BACK INTO THE
WALL, (no more computer power supply experimenting )turned it back on, and
the fused blew again, and again.

So what will this run me?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
