Broken Lilliput, I'm Broke, any fixes?

alright so i have had the lilliput for just over a year (thus, mp3car will nto give me an RMA =( ) and my screen is acting up.

the pointer only goes to the bottom left corner of the screen

no matter where i press, how many times i disassemble the thing, reinstall the drivers, how many people i kill, it still stays at the bottom left corner.

there is one way to make it so it doesnt that works 1/15 times for about 30 seconds.

if when assembled, i push on the left side of the case VERY hard... i can get a few touches in.

odd i know, but anyone know exactly whats going on? i was saving for a fusion brain + accelerometer + other stuff, but now it looks like ill have to buy a new lilliput instead... and i dont have nearly enough money for one.

so anyone have a real fix? or want to give me a fusion brain for my troubles *cough*2k1*cough*

p.s. yer still my idol

edit: i remember reading about this happening to someone else back before thanksgiving... did anyone come up with a fix?

I love being an idol.

Dont worry though, it happened to me this January. The expensive parts of the lilliput would be the screen and video controller. If the image still displays, and you can still recognize the USB touch controller (even though it doesnt work), then you have the easiest and least expensive fix there is.

#1 would be to check the wires going from the touch overlay (glass panel you actually touch) to the circuit board. Should be 4 wires. The Xenarcs have 5 sometimes. These are still ribbon cables, but not into ZIF sockets, into actual 90degree headers. If all those cables are not loose, then your panel is probably no good anymore. Are there any cracks, scratches or anything.

#2 buy a new overlay. It is $50 shipped usually. You can buy it on eBay, on mp3car (I have been told), and digitalww. Varying between $35 and $45 and then with shipping usually always $50. Easy to replace.

My Lilli was doing the same thing, so I sent it in to MP3car for repair. Just got it hooked back up today and it's working fine now. I don't know what they did though.... Cost me about $80.

it happened to me once. it turned out there was a small peice of plastic or bondo in the corner that was pressing the touchscreen in that corner causing it to constantly go down there. try to make sure theres no pressure on that corner and see if it still does it.
