lilliput calibration issues...

Ok, i've finally got the extra usb cable i needed to setup the touchscreen on my lilliput EBY-701. I've gone into the "touchkit" software to calibrate it, what happens is that a white screen comes up which tells me to press the marker until it stops flashing. But, the flashing red and green cross appears in the bottom left hand corner, and, without me touching it at all it flashes for about two seconds before it stops flashing and goes green. After that, the cross just sits there green. no other crosses come up, touching the now green cross does nothing, nothing is happening... is this a problem of some sort or am i just not doing something correctly?

It sounds as if something is pressing on the screen, probably in the lower left corner.
Perhaps loosen up the bezel a bit.

yeah i considered that it could be something like that, although i thought it might have been me just being stupid, so i didn't try it before asking here. I've also put a protective film on the screen, which i don't think is doing much anyway, so i might pull that off and see if it then works.

for anyone interested, it turned out the problem was that the clear protective film i'd put over the lilliput was applying pressure on the screen causing it to think that it was being held down constantly, hence the first cross never dissapeared.

This really saved my vacation!
The screen worked once after some hassle with drivers in the beginning and suddenly it wouldn't respond again. Each time I changed drivers some response come back, but it always dragged to right-down corner. Since I'm new to TS, and the change in behavior with driver exchange led me to believe it was a driver/software problem. After 2 full reinstalls, bios settings, different USB gear and extenders in different combinations with 4 different drivers combined with 2 different calibration programs and 5 days of frustration... the main problem was caused by one screw mounted too tight (on a new screen).

The 7-port USB 2.0 hub didn't help either, found out it blocked the communication to the screen.

Thanks again for the advice!

Which screws did you loosen because I'm having the same problem with an in-dash model.

Apply a bit of logic here.
Loosen the screws at the corner or side where the cursor gravitates to.

My cursor doesn't gravitate anywhere, it's just off center when I hit something and I can't get the calibration to work.

Have you tried to calibrate with just a straight USB cable (no active repeater or USB hub)?

I had a 7-port hub that blocked the calibration software to read what kind of TS I had. It showed up, but I couldn’t calibrate through it.
I also found out that an Active USB extender in my system impaired the responsiveness, so I replaced it with a normal 5m M/F USB cable.

I have a straight USB cable. I'm not going through a hub or anything.

My issue?

Could this be my issue (it doesn't sound quite like it)?

My screen worked for well over a year. Then, it quit working properly -- if I'd press in a particular spot, I would get a press at that spot, then get presses *very* far off-screen, then back to the correct spot, etc.

I tried recalibrating, which just caused it not to ever get the right spot -- the extreme off-screen presses now cause the majority of the presses to be scaled to a very small area.

Anyone else run into this?
