Lilliput in dash fuzzy image

I know that this has been posted 9079879 times, but I've got pictures. =) I just put the in-dash lilliput in my car, model gl701. I'm having an issue with it though. The image seems grainy and not clear. I've tried the advice posted on this site of pushing the connector in all the way. Done that, and I also tightened the screw on the connector as far as it would go. I'm thinking that maybe the protective film is still on the monitor, however I don't want to take it apart just yet. And finally maybe it's just the touch screen overlay? If that's the case, touchscreens suck.

Well here are some pics, help me out guys.

I am using the cable that came with the monitor connected to a Belkin vga extension cable. I'm going to try to hook up directly to the cable that came with the monitor and see if anything changes.

I still have the protective film on mine too, but it looks nothing like that... But maybe you should just pull a corner of it out, and then look at the screen underneath? Then you could at least rule out that posibility?!

How do I open it? I tried taking the 4 screws out on the sides and the 2 on top in the back. And I couldn't pull it out. Any help would be appreciated.

As for a bad VGA cable, I've used the extension cable on other computers with no problems. And I've tried hooking up directly to the cable that came with the monitor with the same results.

I've tried with or without it and still have the same results. So it's not the belkin wire.
