Help about Lilliput EBY701

Hi all !

I'm italian and I'm going to purchase a lilliput EBY701.

http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2...01-NP-C-T-.jpg

I read this is a new model from lilliput, and I need it because it has a lower height compared to the others.

My questions is, is this a good LCD as the other lilliputs ? And why this has a lower price in comparison to the others ?

Please help me because I'm going to buy it in USA (I'm italian)

THANKS TO ALL !!
bye

the 629 and 619 are a lot better.

because the brightness is a bit better than the 701. As well as the fact that the 629 and 619 have the function/code ability to use the "auto on" feature by way of simple programming.

I guess that's why they cost more than the 701.

I believe the touchscreen is still the same quality.

actually, the auto on programming works on the 701 as well. I'm not sure about the brightness diff, never seen the models side by side, so you'll have to take Snort's word on it. .

I checked on the net, and I found they have the same characteristics:

Contract 200:1
Brightness: 400
Responsive Time: 30Ms

BUT IS HAS A MUCH LOWER PRICE ... why !?!

I have the 701 and I must say there is nothing wrong with it at all. I have it set to auto on and it works, the brightness is fine. I can see it fine during the day. I think its a good buy! Go for it, you wont be disappointed.

I picked an EBY 701 for a friend's carputer...I must say for the price it isn't bad. However, the only annoyance I have is that when there isn't a signal, a blue screen is shown...so on bootup, it flashes blue a couple of times.

I've got the EBY701, and it's a pretty nice screen. No clue about the price. It has good features, and doesn't need auto-on, because it practically turns itself off if there's no signal.

I've had it flake out at me because I think the case was on too tight. It would just display a white screen. I lostened the screws and it started working again, so no clue.

The one really big complaint about it is the VGA cable sticks out beyond the dimensions of the screen. It's wider than DIN size because of the cable.

I've seen other quotes where folks said it was perfect or very near perfect double DIN sized, and fit very well into a double DIN sized space.

Are you saying the cable would prevent that? Maybe if you have room to the side to accommodate the cable it wouldn't matter.

Thanks, Z

wait a minute, I'm confused.

If the 701 has the same auto power on features as the 619 and 629, then how come the fact-forum thread about auto-power on for liliputs only mentions the 619 and 629.

also, why is the price so much more for those two than the 701 if the brightness is the same? it's like 230 dollars for the 619 and 629 but way under 200 for the 701. SOMETHING is different. whether it's the 4 wire touchscreen, the brightness, or contrast.

just curious, because there has to be something different about them besides the case, the case is just cheap plastic and doesn't cost the factory anything different.

one of you mentions that the 701 doesn't need auto power on because it turns itself off with no signal, but you didn't mention how you turn it ON. do you have to hit the button? that's what I want to avoid....

there's a thread somewhere with specific auto-on programming for the 701. Also, I think I read somewhere here that the reason for the price difference was because the 701's panel is made by a diffrenent manufacturer. I can't really recall the specific details though, you'll have to do a search.

I believe the 629/619 are Hitachi panels and the 701 is made by lilliput themselves or some cheaper manufacturer.

so how can the brightness be the same? i thought I remember that the 701 brightness is less than the 629, and 619, no?

if so, that is a critical difference in the car environment.

ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING THE 'EGG' IN POWER WIRE HOOKED UP NORMAL INSTEAD OF CUTTING OFF THE EGG AND WIRING TO THE REGULATED 12V FROM YOUR COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the EBY701 when its removed from the case?
I need to fit it into a 120mm x 190mm opening, and that includes a few mm around the edges for the plastic frame..
