Hi all,
My pack has finally arrived after waiting for two months.
Just a couple of quick questions:
- Is the sticky side supposed to face the light-diffuser or the LCD panel?
- The anti-reflective film seems to make the screen all milky and washed out. Is this right?!
Thanks.

If it's the ARMR, then yes it's removable. The adhesive is not supposed to leave or accumulate any residue either.

"sticky" side? My films did not have a sticky side. The literature and application guides tell you how to orient the films and how to tell which side faces what. All the sample films should have a notch cut in an upper corner, the literature tells you how to orient the films and what side is front/back according to this notch.

Sorry I sort of automatically assumed it was self-adhesive.
Thanks for slapping me awake >__<
And the milkiness of the AR film was because I didn't peel off the backing film........!

n/p. I need that too sometimes
will you post some shots of the AR film in place? I've seen some from that laptop review site posted a page or two back, but was curious as to how it would look in a vehicle environment (haven't ordered mine yet).

Ok guys,
so I have been talking with Linda at 3M.
My e-mail to her:
Hey Linda,
Thanks. I do have one question. Do you have a recommendation as to what people should try or start with in order to reduce the glare and improve the readability of a touch screen in an automotive environment? Many people aren’t able to afford the transreflective screens out in the market and they are looking for a more cost affective solution. Thanks,
Chad
Her responce:
We may have a product that will meet your needs: Removable Anti-Reflection Film (ARMR-200). This product offers:
* ultra-thin, multi-layer film that protects delicate LCD screens from damage
* reduces screen surface reflections to minimize glare and increase clarity
* does not bunch up or leave air gaps that can result in image distortion
* smudges and fingerprints wipe off easily
* ideal for screens requiring a stylus as the input device
* easily removable
* can be easily trimmed
* recommend replacement every 3 - 6 months
I hope this helps

Okay, I'm new and don't even have my screen yet, but have been planning, and purchasine one part at a time. I have been following this thread with keen interest.
I just have one question concerning the AR; Can it be applied without disassembly of the LCD?
Reason I ask is, origionally wanted the transreflective monitor from mp3car, but just can't justify the cost. I'm not afraid of modding, so I am going to go with the 3m upgrades, and AR. However, since the life expectancy of the AR is only 3-6 months, I really do not want to disassemble my LCD more than I have to.
Antimatter- Hows your pics coming?

I dont think you have to dissasemble the entire thing but i would to get it on there with ease. Also that estimate (3 - 6 months) is on the low end and there is no reason why it shouldn't last the life of your LCD as long as you take care if it. Now if you trash your LCD and treat the AR coat as a screen protector then yea you will have to replace it.
As far as the pictures i havent recieved my screen yet. Actully i was supossed to get it today...DHL left a door tag. They should be back out tomorrow. Then i need to find time to mod it. I will post as many pics as i can as soon as a get to it. I am also waiting to see if i can use the Class 5000 clean room from my old job. I know its a bit overkill but hey why not.
